For the past year or so, we have seen unexpected political events driving huge market turmoil, from Brexit to Trump’s election victory.

Now, the aftermath of these events threatens to send tremors through the investment banking industry by creating a plethora of uncertainty most feared by businesses.

For instance, many are anticipating a follow-on spread of populism and anti-establishment sentiment across Europe, which could potentially alter the landscape of policy-making, creating a radically different economic and trade environment.

Moreover, with Brexit still in its early stages, there is still much to anticipate from the upcoming process of triggering article 50, and the subsequent negotiations on single market, customs union access and free movement of labour, business cost structures and supply chains are bound to be impacted.
